Facility Description:

South County Surgical Center is a multi-specialty surgery center with 2 OR’s and 2 procedure rooms. Facility hours are Monday-Friday from 5:00am to 5:00pm.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Pre/PACU registered nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care. Performs all nursing duties within the department interacting professionally with physicians, anesthesia staff, other teammates, patients, and family members. This position requires strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the success of patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and to provide safe, quality healthcare.
  • Assesses physical and emotional needs of the patient and implements appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Admits and prepares patients for surgery.
  • Discharges patients postoperatively.
  • Demonstrates safe medication practices.
  • Sets priorities to facilitate the flow of patients efficiently.
  • Makes preoperative and postoperative patient phone calls.
  • Prepares and restock department for the following day.
  • Competent and responsive to emergency situations.

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with current MO state licensure to practice.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
  • At least 2 year of ambulatory surgery experience preferred.
