    Facility Description:


    Perimeter Surgery Center of Atlanta is a 11,000 sqft multispecialty ambulatory surgical center specializing in Orthopedics, GI, General, Plastic, ENT, Pain Management, Spine, and Ocular Plastics

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Materials Manager (MM) is responsible for the facility inventory management plan to support patient care and to achieve organizational goals as directed by the center’s management. The MM reports to the Director of Nursing and performs duties according to scope of practice designated by the facility position description, role and responsibilities.


    The MM will be responsible not only for executing but also for implementing all aspects of the purchasing operation and for establishing the methods to achieve the organization’s goals regarding inventory management.  This will be done in collaboration with the center’s physician partners and CEO, and with the collaboration, support and resources of SCA.


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Maintains the facility inventory management plan – including clinical and non-clinical equipment and supplies – in the interest of delivering safe patient care as directed by the facility leadership.
    • Follows regulatory requirements and accreditation guidelines, to support safety and security procedures.
    • Pulls and stocks supplies for main supply areas and facility departments, and keeps all departments informed of supply issues.
    • Responsible for the department’s accurate record keeping and reporting.
    • Communicates to all vendors, sales reps and accounts as liaison for clinical Teammates
    • As a fiduciary, advises on equipment and supply needs, contains costs, performs periodic inventory counts, completes patient charges in accordance with facility procedure, and provides CEO with data as requested.
    • When appropriate for job development, attends professional training seminars, collaborates with SCA’s supply chain organization and shares information with other Teammates.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by the facility’s director of nursing.

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • Prefer 2-5 years of experience in medical supplies/equipment and materials management.
    • Prefer experience with total joint supply/inventory management
    • Prefer Certified Scrub Tech experience
    • Demonstrated skill on computer input and operation for facility inventory management oversight function
    • Knowledge of inventory/stock procedures, including equipment/supply orders, par levels, returns
    • Organization and prioritization skills
    • Alert to detail and follow-up. Maintains accurate records
    • Providing direction to others that is clear, concise, and promotes efficiency throughout the facility
    • Ability to frequently lift and carry articles 50 lbs. or over
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, Teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.
    • Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.
