    Facility Description:

    The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CMIS) is an outpatient surgery center with 4 ORs and 1 procedure room. Multispecialty ASC: Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Pain Management, General Spine Surgery, Orthopedics including complex spine surgery and total joint surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

     The circulating nurse is primarily responsible to advocate for safe patient care during their time spent in the operating room.  The circulating nurse reports directly the OR Clinical Manager.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The circulator prepares the surgical suite for scheduled cases assuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for the procedure.
    • Act as the liaison to the pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative team members, as well as patients and family members.
    • Be responsible for providing efficient patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
    • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective use of departmental resources necessary to provide safe quality care to our patients and physicians.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Illinois
    • 1 year perioperative nursing experience required
    • Ortho, Spine and Ophthalmology experience a plus
    • Current CPR certification
