    Facility Description:

     

    Five operating room, multi-specialty out-patient ambulatory surgery center that is accredited by AAAHC. We specialize in Orthopedic, General, GI, Pain, ENT, and Eye Procedures. Patients have their same-day surgery in a warm, inviting environment and are discharged home after recovery. The facility does offer 23-hour stay when patients need to be observed overnight.

     

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Surgery Scheduler is the key point of contact with our physician offices, maintaining a professional relationship to help ensure the success of the center. The Surgery Scheduler role also includes / but not limited to providing support to the facility in performing specific or various business office functions such as: Clinical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable Coordination, Liaison with Central Billing Office (CBO), Insurance Verification, Registration, Clinical Logs and other duties as assigned in a department leadership capacity.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 Codes, demonstrates knowledge of insurance verifications and authorizations including a strong knowledge of ASC-based allowable procedures
    • Ability to prioritize and work independently, in conjunction with utilization of critical- thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Have the ability to communicate effectively with patient, payors, physicians, and other teammates
    • Attention to detail with verification of information entered into data base system to include, but not limited to, correct spelling of name, DOB, phone number, etc.
    • Will handle multiple physician schedules daily while ensuring accuracy of information given and received Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to supersede expectations and demonstrate exceptional professional behavior as a representative of SCA.
    • Maximize efficiency within the surgery schedule by organizing cases in conjunction with the Administrator or designee.
    • Communicate and partner with the Clinical Lead in a manner that is consistent for the center to maintain its high level of service.
    • Interacts with all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible
    • manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment
    • Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations
    • Maintains confidentiality of all facility and patient information as required by facility policy
    • Cross Coverage for Business Office personnel as coordinated with Clinical Lead.
    • Other duties as requested or assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent higher education preferred.
    • Must be dependable and trustworthy.
    • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
    • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
    • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
    • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
    • All Interactions with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, volunteers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with Facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations in accordance with the values of the organization and SCA.
