    Facility Description:

    Since 1984, Charlotte Surgery Center has provided high quality surgical results to the community.  The facility is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center specializing in orthopedics, total joint replacements, ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, urology, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, and pain management.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    SCA is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the team at Charlotte Surgery Center. The Director of Nursing is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. They will assume responsibility as a department lead of the OR, Pre-Op, and PACU. The Director of Nursing is also responsible for overseeing the facility’s quality improvement, risk management, infection control, and education of the teammates. As a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing is responsible to work in patient care. The Director of Nursing is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The DON is also responsible for meeting AAAHC/CMS accreditation requirements including but not limited to a Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center.

     

    The DON will work with closely with the center’s CEO to ensure delivery of quality, safe patient care. The role requires excellent communication skills with physicians, operational leaders, teammates, and vendors

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be the lead advocate for patient outcomes and outstanding clinical quality within the center
    • Provides leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with the instructions of physician and facility’s policies & procedures.
    • Ensures quality outcomes, labor efficiencies, supply chain management, revenue cycle optimization and regulatory accreditation/compliance
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility
    • Analyzes and correlates clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
    • Works alongside facility CEO to ensure overall success, and will assume some his/her role in the CEO’s absence

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Associates degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
    • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, project follow through, effective communication skills (both written and verbal), and proven ability to interact well with physicians is required
    • At least 5 years of Nursing Management experienced required
    • Successful completion of BLS, ACLS, and PALS course within 90 days of employment, or proof of current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
