    Physicians Surgery Center of Downey:

    Physicians Surgery Center of Downey is a busy multi-specialty outpatient surgery center (ASC) located in Downey, CA. The fast-growing, newly-acquired SCA center is looking for a Director of Nursing to lead all clinical operations and personnel at the ASC.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Director of Nursing is responsible for all aspects of care delivery in the facility. Assumes responsibility as Department Manager of PACU/OR Departments. The DON is also responsible for meeting AAAHC/CMS accreditation requirements including but not limited to Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center.  The DON Assumes some responsibility of the Administrator in his/her absence. As a Registered Nurse, the DON is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.


    The DON will work with closely with the center’s CEO to ensure delivery of quality, safe patient care. The role requires excellent communication skills with physicians, operational leaders, teammates, and vendors.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
    • Ability to set priorities.
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.
    • Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.
    • Effective management of clinical team.
    • Oversees AAAHC/CMS accreditation requirements and practices.


    • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
    • At least 5 years nursing experience, including management role preferred.
    • Current state licensure.
    • Successful completion of BCLS, ALS, and PALS within 90 days of employment.
