    Facility Description: 

    Texas Health Surgery Center Bedford is an ambulatory surgery center with two operating rooms. Services lines include OBGYN, pain management, spine, orthopedics, urology, general, GI, and ENT.


    The position is for the Bedford, Texas location at a multi-specialty facility.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The PREOP/PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.  

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

    • History and physical assessment of patient
    • Complete review of medical records
    • Communicates with members of healthcare team
    • Monitors vital signs, recognizes emergencies and notifies the appropriate personnel
    • Maintains an environment that promotes safety
    • Explains discharge instructions to patient, family, responsible adult
    • Prepares and restocks recovery area
    • Assists with postoperative patient calls.
    • Communicates effectively with department teammates, physician offices and patients to assure continuity of patient care.
    • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.


    • Current state licensure to practice: Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Texas;
    • Multispecialty Operating Room experience strongly preferred. Center is heavy in GYN, General, GI, Urology, Ortho, ENT and Spine.
    • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY.
    • Computer experience, HST, Excel, Word.
    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. At least one year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
    • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/ACLS certification.
    • Successful completion of ACLS and PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS and PALS certification.
