    MemorialCare Surgical Center Laguna Woods is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center located in South Orange County with 4 operating rooms and 1 procedure room.  MCSC Laguna Woods specializes in Orthopedics, Podiatry, GI, Pain, and Plastic Surgery.  

    Located minutes from Laguna Beach, and close proximity to Southern California’s best beaches, attractions, dining and shopping.  Great location for the outdoor enthusiasts as well. 

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for surgical care through assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care to include safe nursing care from the surgery center. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
    • Assesses, plans and evaluates the nursing care needs of each patient in the surgical unit.
    • Ensures these needs are met in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures and at the direction of the physician.
    • Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
    • Administers prescribed medications and evaluates responses to treatments/interventions using
    •    safe medication practices.
    • Accurately documents all required information in the medical record.
    • Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
    • Communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, physicians, and other teammates.
    • Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
    • Practices in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
    • Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that
    •    are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.



    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. 
    • At least one year operating room nursing experience required. 
    • Current state licensure to practice.
    • Documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
    • Documentation of current ACLS certification or successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment.
