    Facility Description:


    Surgery Center at Kissing Camels is an outpatient surgery center with 2 ORs and 1 procedure room offering surgical procedures to patients in a unique patient-focused environment. We currently perform surgeries in Oculoplastics, ENT, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Plastic Surgery, and Pain Management. We believe in a work/life balance, so we offer no nights, holidays, weekends, or call.


    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Full-time Surgical Technologist (ST) is responsible for the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Director of Nursing. The ST performs duties according to the scope of practice designated by the facility position description, role and responsibilities and according to the surgical technologist professional organization and certification board.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs surgical team functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
    • Prepares supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures adhering to standard universal precautions.
    • Participates in sponge, instrument and needle count with the circulating nurse.
    • Knows and practices the principles and procedures of sterile technique. Handles specimens in accordance with facility policy and procedures.
    • Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays according to physicians’ preference cards.
    • Assists in storing and stocking supplies as directed.
    • Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cards.
    • Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures.



    • Graduate of an approved surgical technician program
    • Certification preferred, but not required
    • 1+ years of experience required
    • Must have current BLS certification
