    Facility Description:  Preston Plaza Surgery Center is a five operating room, multi-specialty out-patient facility that is accredited by AAAHC.  Specialties include Orthopedics, General Surgery, GI, Pain, ENT, and Ophthalmology.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    We are looking for a PRN operating room nurse to join our team.  The PRN OR RN will provide support to the facility by performing circulating RN duties in the operating room.  Available hours are variable (day shift, mid-shift/swing-shift) weekdays.  No weekend or call requirements.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care
    • Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
    • Assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures and effectively and efficiently assists the surgeon during the procedure.
    • Good visual acuity. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and utilizing a full range of body movement.  Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time.  Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape.  Ability to speak and hear clearly.
    • Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family, and employee rights and expectations.
    • Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.

    Qualifications

    • Required – Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
    • Current Licensure to practice professional nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so
    • Successful completion of BLS, ACLS, and PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current certifications.
    • Required – At least 1 year operating room experience (Orthopedic experience preferred)
