Facility Description:

South County Surgical Center is a multi-specialty surgery center with 2 OR’s, 2 procedure rooms, and 1 minor procedure room. Specialties include urology, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, gyn, plastics, and gastroenterology. Facility hours are Monday-Friday from 5:00am to 5:00pm.

The Charge RN preop/PACU is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. Assumes responsibility as clinical lead of preop/PACU department. The clinical lead is also responsible for the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center and Infection Control. Assumes some responsibility of the facility CEO in his/her absence. As a Registered Nurse, the clinical lead is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains preop/PACU as assigned, in accordance with written policies and in compliance with accrediting agencies.
• Responsible for effective management of labor/productivity as well as flexing teammates.
• Responsible for efficient and effective patient care and quality improvement.
• Provides immediate monitoring/coaching to teammates as needed.
• Assists with staffing and daily operations.
• Proactively seeks to continuously improve patient care and operations.
• Responsible for other functions as assigned by DON or the Facility CEO.

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with current MO state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• At least 2 year of multi-specialty ambulatory surgery experience required.
