    Facility Description:

    Large multi-specialty surgery center in Ontario, California with a focus on implementation of high acuity service lines, including: total joints, cardiovascular and peripheral vascular

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Preop-PACU Charge Nurse is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in preop and recovery.  The Charge Nurse is also responsible for overall flow of the departments and assumes responsibility for the RN’s LVN’s and other allied health teammates in the department.  May assume some responsibility of the DON in his/her absence.  As a Registered Nurse, the Preop-PACU Charge Nurse is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care while in preop and PACU.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to set priorities. Assigns personnel according to clinical competence
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout preop and recovery.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, Teammates, physicians, other healthcare workers, etc.
    • Engages as a productive member of the center’s core leadership team
    • Experienced preop and recovery nurse with ability to care for high acuity patients
    • Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.

    Qualifications

    • Has successfully completed the program at an accredited school of nursing with a current state nursing license.
    • Experience in ambulatory surgery nursing, at least two (2) to five (5) years of nursing and management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center is desired.
    • Successful completion of BLS, ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire
