    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    This position is the “face” of the facility. Individual must provide support to the facility by performing specific or various business office functions as assigned. These functions are to include (but not limited to):  Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable, Insurance Verification, Clinical Logs, Data Entry and other duties as assigned.  This individual will be responsible for greeting patients/visitors, maintaining appearance of the lobby, answering phones, and acting as a resource for facility. This individual will function within the Center’s policies and procedures, support SCA Values, SCA Vision and SCA Mission. 


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Register patients upon arrival to facility, to include tasks such as verification of patient identity, financial, demographic and insurance information, ensures completion of required paperwork, etc.
    • Preparation of medical charts for next day, ensuring all documentation, including records from prior visits are appropriately included
    • Audit of medical record for completion, ability to utilize scanner for electronic storage of medical records following audit
    • Accountability for gathering information needed by billing company for timely submission to aid in AR collections
    • Ability to understand cross-training in all areas of front office as required, i.e. surgery scheduling, insurance verification, etc.
    • Data Entry
    • Greet and direct visitors/vendors to the correct departments
    • Answer incoming calls, relay information in accurate, concise manner and direct calls appropriately to correct departments
    • Maintain clean and tidy waiting room/lobby area
    • Intercept faxes and distribute to appropriate department
    • Scan documentation
    • Maintain patient privacy per HIPAA regulations
    • Any additional functions assigned by leadership – specifically, assisting the CEO as needed


    • High school diploma or equivalent - required
    • Computer experience; Microsoft Suite (especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint) - required
    • Medical Terminology - preferred
    • Comprehension of HIPAA standards and guidelines – preferred
    • Have ability to communicate effectively with patient, payors, physicians, and other teammates
    • Have the ability to evaluate problematic situations and multiple alternative scenarios and come to independent conclusions on how to respond
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the center
    • Is courteous, understanding and sympathetic toward patients, physicians and others.
    • Ability to cross train and multitask, be flexible with work schedule, maintain regular attendance
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and work independently
    • Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor and other facility employees.
