    Facility Description:


    Opened in 1988, Golf Surgical Center is a multi-specialty ASC uniquely equipped with 5 operating rooms, a GI Room, an Eye Laser Room and a Minor Procedure Room. Golf Surgical Center is fully licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Medicare, and fully accredited by AAAHC. Specialties offered are: Pain Management, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dental, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry and Urology.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Pre-op and Post-op Clinical Manager is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in Pre and Post-op. The Pre and Post-op Clinical Manager is also responsible for Physician Peer Review, Medication Safety, and Clinical Policy and Procedure Management for the center and plans and coordinates the Culture of Patient Safety meetings for the Center. As a Registered Nurse is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
    • Ability to set priorities.
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.
    • Assesses patient status on admission and on an ongoing basis.
    • Implements appropriate standards of care based on assessment data and patient’s own goals. Goals are mutually set with the patient and family
    • Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance expected outcomes and ensures readiness for discharge.
    • Leads Clinical team in the Pre-op and Post-op and manages recruitment, teammate education and growth priorities.Also provides discipline if needed.
    • Establishes and enforces standards and policies and procedures, as well as education for Pre-op and Post-op teams.
    • Provides input regarding equipment needs/supply needs. Completes patient costs in accordance with facility procedure/keeps preference cards updated. Demonstrates sound cost containment techniques.


    • Has successfully completed the program at an accredited school of nursing with a current state nursing license.
    • Experience in ambulatory surgery nursing, at least two (2) to five (5) years of nursing and management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center is desired. 
    • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.  Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
    • Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation or current PALS certification
