    Facility Description:

    Marin Specialty Surgery Center is a 2 Operating Room / 1 Procedure Room multi-specialty surgery center, located in Greenbrae, CA.

    Our facility is AAAHC accredited and specialized in Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, Plastic and General Surgery.

    Our operations have been growing substantially over the past year and further expansion is expected through the addition of new specialties and high-acuity cases.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Clinical Lead is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. Assumes responsibility as a Department lead of the Pre-op/OR/PACU. The DON is also responsible for the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center and Education Coordinator for the facility, as well. Assumes some responsibility of the Administrator in his/her absence. As a Registered Nurse, the DON is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assesses, plans, and evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patients care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
    • Assumes a leadership role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving care.
    • Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based on age-specific needs utilizing developmental perspective.
    • Demonstrates appropriate and continued knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
    • Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
    • Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Completes appropriate financial management responsibilities.
    • Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and clinical practice.
    • Fosters a positive and professional facility environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member


    • Has successfully completed the program at an accredited school of nursing with a current state nursing license.
    • Experience in ambulatory surgery nursing, at least two (2) to five (5) years of nursing and management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center is desired.
    • Experience with AAAHC/TJC/CMS survey requirements and processes
    • Experience with Total Joints and Spine procedures
    • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
    • Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
