    Facility Description:

    Montgomery Surgery Center is an outpatient ambulatory care facility with four Operating Rooms.  We accommodate multiple specialties including Ophthalmology, General, ENT, Plastics, GYN, Orthopedics and Pain.  We provide quality and compassionate care for both pediatric and adult patients.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    We are seeking experienced PACU Registered Nurses who are reliable, detail-oriented, skilled problem solvers, and who have a positive and cooperative work ethic.  The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from the OR through PACU and discharge. The RN will perform duties according to the scope of practice designated by the facility position description, role and responsibilities and according to the standards. Must have a teamwork attitude.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the overall achievement of patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and to provide safe, quality healthcare.
    • Assessing physical and emotional needs of the patient and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on age specific needs.
    • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position in patient care duties.
    • Utilizes time effectively.
    • Follows established facility policies and procedures with regards to attendance.
    • Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
    • Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patient’s, teammates, physicians and guests.
    • Demonstrates safe medication practices.
    • Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and clinical practice.
    • Performs all other duties assigned by management.
    • Upholds and practices the principles and policies of the SCA Compliance program.
    • Communicates patient information to assure confidentiality and continuity of care.

    • Interacts with all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment.
    • Fosters a positive and professional facility environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.
    • Completes appropriate financial management responsibilities.


    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
    • Current Maryland Nursing License
    • At least 2 years of prior PACU experience
    • Current BLS Certification
    • Current ACLS Certification
    • Current PALS Certification
