    Facility Description:

    Saddleback has 4 OR’s doing an average of 370 cases a month. It is a muti- specialty facility doing all types of cases except for GI and Pain. We have a Total Joint Program on-going with the capabilities of overnight stays.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Accountable and responsible for planning, organizing, managing and coordinating the operations and nursing staff for assigned areas in the surgery center.  Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility administrative procedures.  Coordinates activities routinely as appropriate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director and the Quality Committee(s).


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintains pre-op/PACU as assigned, in accordance with written policies and in compliance with various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
    • Responsible for effective management of labor/productivity as well as flexing teammates appropriately.
    • Assists with the development and monitoring of the standards of assigned areas pertaining to the pre-op/PACU, and corresponding ancillary areas.
    • Responsible for efficient and effective patient care and quality improvement.
    • Helps in determining goals and effectively manages resources to achieve the goals.
    • Provides immediate mentoring/coaching to teammates as needed.
    • Maintains a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care.
    • At the direction of the Director of Nursing, maintains an adequate inventory for assigned areas.


    • Graduate of accredited school of nursing/current BLCS
    • Current licensure in the State of California as a Registered Nurse
    • ACLS/PALS certification within six months of hire date (applicable to scope of service)
    • Two or more years of charge nurse experience in an ASC or an acute care hospital OR


    • BSN Degree
