    Facility Description:

    We are a busy, two OR surgical center focused on providing the highest quality of care to orthopaedic, and pain management patients. You will be a valued team member of an exceptional, elite staff where your knowledge and skill are acknowledged and appreciated. Physician supported since 2003.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Full time OR Nurses needed to provide safe, comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to the perioperative surgical patient and family according to physician order, in compliance with the philosophy of the facility, standards of practice and regulations of governing agencies. Must be able to circulate orthopaedic and pain management specialties. Ability to scrub also would be an asset.

    Monday to Friday days. Shift start and length flexes with surgical schedule.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assembles cases according to schedule and preference cards.
    • In Pre-Operative Area, introduces self to patient, verifies patient identity, assesses patient’s physical needs, alleviates patient anxiety, clarifies operative site, checks chart for necessary documentation and receives hand off report from Preop nurse.
    • Practices and monitors aseptic techniques.
    • Ensures that the surgical site time-out process is followed and completed.
    • Performs duties as circulating or scrub nurse.
    • Is responsible for positioning patient relevant to procedure with awareness of body alignment, circulation and pressure points.
    • Provides necessary supportive equipment for patient comfort
    • Applies electrosurgical return electrodes, tourniquets, leg holders etc., according to physician preference, policies and procedures.
    • Accurately completes intraoperative record and inventory sheet.
    • Is accountable for accuracy and documentation of sponge, needle and instrument counts.
    • Properly labels and cares for specimens.
    • Provides and records all intraoperative medications. Obtains physician signature of administration of same.
    • Provides comprehensive hand off report to PACU RN.


    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
    • Florida RN licensed
    • At least 1 year prior OR
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good organizational skills
