    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Development and supported by a Development Director or Associate, the Development Senior Director is responsible for developing and executing on market strategies within the northeastern US (mid-Atlantic and New England states), as well as leading, mentoring and managing the teammates who will support the development activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Ensure SCA capital (time and money) are being deployed in an efficient and responsible manner
    • Responsible for progressing towards achievement of long-term market strategy and financial measurement
    • Pursue and assess acquisition, merger and de novo opportunities
    • Have a thorough understanding of all value drivers at the surgery center level and for our partners (health plans, health systems, and medical/physician groups)
    • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of select markets(s) and local healthcare dynamics; build strategy in tandem with Market Strategy Team
    • Build and maintain network of relationships in target markets (physicians, ASC CEOs, device reps, etc.)
    • Ensure each market within assigned territory has a strategy identified and action plan in place
    • Test market strategy to support or refine value proposition
    • Effectively manage market capacity and raise resourcing needs as warranted
    • Make determination and recommendation to leadership and Investment Review Committee as to whether the proposed transaction is one that should be pursued, bearing in mind resources required
    • Quarterback multiple transactions with varying complexity concurrently from origination through deal close
    • Lead target-facing presentations for new potential partners (ASCs, health systems, medical groups, etc.)
    • Alongside Operations executive, structure the proposed transaction, develop the business plan, and manage the legal, compliance and executive approvals required
    • Lead deal negotiations and work with legal counsel on the execution of definitive transaction documents (e.g., Purchase Agreement, Management Agreement, and Operating Agreement) to support the successful execution of partnership opportunity
    • Set appropriate expectations with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that communication and deliverables are accurate and prompt
    • Communicate deal summaries to inform Enterprise resourcing and financial decisions
    • Promote and exemplify a positive culture across the team
    • Encourage/lead ongoing professional growth of teammates and actively train Associates to lead the deal process
    • Conduct all business matters with the highest degree of integrity and ensure that a culture of compliance is fostered to enhance the company's credibility and reputation
    • Ability to detect compliance related issues and awareness to raise to the appropriate SCA resources in a timely manner

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required; Finance, Economics, Business or related field preferred
    • 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Ability to independently travel over 50% as needed
