    Facility Description:

    Saddleback has 4 OR’s doing an average of 370 cases a month. It is a muti- specialty facility doing all types of cases except for GI and Pain. We have a Total Joint Program on-going with the capabilities of overnight stays.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. The LPN/LVN performs duties according to state nursing board scope of practice and facility position description


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
    • Ability to set priorities.
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc.
    • Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.


    • Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and/or MDA according to facility policy and procedure.
    • Assesses patient status on admission and on an ongoing basis.
    • Implements appropriate standards of care based on assessment data and patient’s own goals. Goals are mutually set with the patient and the family.
    • Coordinates nursing interventions under the supervision of the RN to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge, and documents outcomes established in the plan of care.
    • Reports the patient's planned outcomes to the Registered Nurse in a timely and appropriate manner.
