    Facility Description:

    SCA is currently accepting applications for a Director position on its fast paced and innovative Payer Analytics team. 

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The fundamental objective of the position is to serve as a strategic partner to a variety of stakeholders responsible for contract negotiations, business development, finance, and operations through the quantitative analysis and strategic application of all payer contracts and the implications they have on financial results and growth. 


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Partner with contract negotiators to identify key variables and preliminary strategies for upcoming negotiations, then generate accurate and instructive models that reflect these inputs
    • Partner with regional business development leaders to evaluate potential investments and resyndications, typically using a combination of external claims data and internal reference prices
    • Perform research on payers’ membership footprint and market strategy as may be relevant for negotiation purposes
    • Partner with SCA’s Payment Innovation team to develop value-based contracts with strategic payer partners
    • Build the Managed Care budget for future years alongside Payer Engagement
    • Support market strategy reviews; specifically, understanding the payer landscape and potential hospital to ASC migration opportunities
    • Periodically review and provide guidance on each center’s charge master
    • Analyze payment data to ensure accurate and adequate payment during contract modeling
    • Lead custom analytics relating to any of the above and special projects as requested

    • Exceptional project management skills including clearly setting priorities, developing action plans, and leveraging agendas and recaps to track progress
    • Innovative thinking; uses creativity to present opportunities for improvement and solve problems, particularly in situations where traditional approaches have failed

    • Self-motivated; is comfortable and effective working independently
    • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders; can share examples of leading a cross-functional team to consensus and action through influence (vs. direct reporting authority)
    • Working knowledge of revenue cycle management and managed care contracting related fields strongly preferred
    • Experience in hospital, provider, or physician analytics a plus
    • Highly proficient in Excel and SQL, specifically including building queries and data connections to access a data warehouse and/or manipulate large datasets; experience with Tableau a plus


    Education Requirements:


    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required
      • Master’s Degree preferred
