    An exciting career opportunity is now available for the right individual at Upland Outpatient Surgical Center (UOSC) in Upland, CA.  Our mission is to provide excellent care for our patients, serve our physicians and improve healthcare in America.


    UOSC is an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates/Optum Health and is a values based healthcare provider committed to delivering world class healthcare.  UOSC is a multispecialty facility located in the Inland Empire with 2 operating rooms and 1 procedure room.  We perform outpatient surgeries including General Surgery, ENT, GI, Gynecology, Podiatry and Pain Management.  We are expanding our service lines to include Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, and Total Joints.  We are fast paced and offer an exceptional workplace culture.  We generally work Monday through Friday with no call. 


    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Clinical Manager is responsible for all aspects of clinical care delivery in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).  The Clinical Manager implements and oversees the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center and assumes responsibility for the center in the CEO’s absence.  As a Registered RN, the Clinical Manager also assesses, plans, implements and coordinates patient care from admission to discharge.  The Clinical Manager is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and maintenance of a culture of patient safety in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the facility.  The Preop/PACU Charge RN and the Operating Room Charge RN report directly to the Clinical Manager.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency and a culture of patient safety through the clinical areas of the facility.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, teammates, physicians and other healthcare workers.
    • Assess, plan, evaluate and ensure the implementation of patient care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
    • Develops/updates center Policies & Procedures as needed based on accreditation requirements, patient safety or work flow changes.
    • Strategically implement new strategic service lines safely and efficiently.
    • Responsible for effective management of labor/productivity as well as flexing teammates appropriately.
    • Ensures Joint Commission/CMS/AORN/AAMI standards are followed and that UOSC is survey ready every day.
    • Responsible for Quality Council/Performance Improvement Committee to facilitate improvement of care and achievement of facility mission including but not limited to quality improvement projects, risk management, infection control, medication management, variance management, and fire and EOC safety. Reports outcomes/recommendations of Quality Council to Medical Executive Committee.
    • Interviews, selects and retains qualified teammates to meet the facility needs. Also assures replacement of low performing/actions not in line with values teammates before it impacts other teammates, physicians, etc. 
    • Provides immediate mentoring/coaching to teammates as needed and performs annual performance reviews.
    • Completes appropriate financial management responsibilities including payroll, scheduling and supply management.
    • Upholds and practices the principles and policies of the SCA Compliance program.
    • Interacts with all patients, families, visitors and fellow teammates and physicians in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment.


    • Associate degree from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN in preferred
    • Current CA RN licensure required
    • At least three years’ experience in ASC or Hospital Operating Room Department required, Operating Room circulating experience preferred.
    • At least two year’s supervisory experience in ASC or Hospital Operating Room Department preferred.
    • Experience implementing/managing Quality Improvement Program preferred.
    • BLS/ACLS certification required
    • PALS certification required within 90 days
