    Facility Description:

    Multi-specialty facility, focused care on ENT, Spine, Podiatry, Facial Plastics, Pain Management.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    This person will participate in our delivery of high-quality care to the patients both before and after their surgical procedure. Duties will include, but are not limited to, patient assessment, medication reconciliation, medication administration, obtaining vital signs & monitoring patients for changes, communication with anesthesia providers, surgeons, family members and others as appropriate to patient care. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to recover patients following surgery, including airway management techniques, patient and family education, coordination of follow-up appointments and care,


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Checks updated schedule each morning and prepares supplies and equipment
    • Assists nursing personnel with patient care and nursing care according to policies and procedures
    • Communicates relevant information to nurse, physicians, managers and appropriate staff
    • Provides for patient safety by use of monitors, side rails, assistance in ambulating and use of call bell
    • Cleans equipment according to procedure
    • Reviews charts for completeness and signatures of physicians
    • Prepares and restocks area for following day
    • Checks inventory and notifies appropriate staff member to re-order
    • Clean and tidy area at end of day in preparation for next day
    • Strict adherence to hand washing policies and infection control practices
    • Ability to work quickly and effectively while maintaining a calm atmosphere
    • Assist nursing staff in the discontinuation of IV’s, Vital signs, Patient transfer, etc
    • Interacts with all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment.
    • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position in preoperative/postoperative patient care duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
    • Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.


    • Graduate of Certified Nursing Assistant Course preferred.
    • Prior experience as a patient care tech preferred in an outpatient surgery center.
    • BLS Certification required.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Proficiency with computer data entry
    • Ability to work quickly and effectively while maintaining a calm atmosphere
    • Must be available early mornings as well as available for flexible hours
    • Proficiency with computer data entry
