    Mile High SurgiCenter is licensed by the State of Colorado and was established by clinical personnel to offer safe, high-quality surgical care.     Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Business Office Clerk - Provide support to the facility by performing specific or various business office functions as assigned. These functions are to include (but not limited to):  Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, Transaction, Posting, Clinical Logs and other duties as assigned.



    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Greets all who enter building in a positive manner, provides direction, information, and other assistance as needed.
    • Performs insurance verifications and authorization follow-up.
    • Schedules surgeries and maintains positive relationships with physician offices.
    • Answers phone in a pleasant manner and deals with physician offices and patient’s needs expeditiously. Takes messages and records in message book. Transfers calls to other departments.
    • Completes necessary paperwork for registration and uses computer system to generate information for surgical/special procedure. 
    • Handles financial responsibilities as policy states or appropriately.


    • Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology. 
    • Possess knowledge of health insurance billing. 
    • Possess knowledge of typing, word processing, spreadsheet and computer billing systems. 
    • Possess strong initiative to get daily work finished and processed. 
    • Has ability to communicate effectively with patient, physicians and other staff members. 
    • Is courteous, understanding and sympathetic toward patients, physicians and others. 
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks. 
    • Ability to enter data into computer, files large amounts of paper, and use office equipment.
