    Facility Description:

    Texas Health Surgery Center-Park Hill

    5 Operating room facility specializing in orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology and ENT.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Provides nursing care to the patient during the intra operative phase.  Performs nursing activities in the Operating Room and acts as the patient advocate.  Answers patient needs by assisting the physician and person responsible for anesthesia care.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Address patient needs during admission to the operating room with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
    • Organize time, equipment, supplies and staff to provide effective case management.
    • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
    • Prepare operating room according to the procedure to be performed and patients needs.
    • Assist with proper and safe positioning of the patient and prepare operative site as directed by the established procedure.
    • Assure all measures are taken to confirm correct operative site.
    • Knowledge of vital sign parameters and reporting of any change in heart rhythm, rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, to anesthesia provider and surgeon.
    • Assures OR is cleaned, stocked and closed according to facility policy and prepared for next surgical day. Assistance with pulling cases, narcotic counts and daily/weekly checklists as necessary.


    • Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
    • Current TX licensure required.
    • Operating room experience required.
    • CPR/ACLS certification required.
    • PALS certification preferred.
