    Facility Description: Stonegate Surgery Center is a beautiful Ambulatory Surgical Center in Austin, Texas. We have five OR Suites and specialize in orthopedic, general, podiatry, plastics and pain management procedures.  We’re growing and are currently searching for a full-time Admission Clerk. We are open on Monday through Friday.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    • Greet patients and visitors to the facility. Notify facility personnel of arrival as needed.
    • Verify patient identity, financial, demographic and insurance information.
    • Directs patient to review NPPR/ HIPAA information.
    • Obtain patient/responsible party signatures.
    • Accept and record patient cost share payments.
    • Greet and direct visitors to the correct departments.
    • Maintain clean and tidy waiting room/lobby area.
    • Act as a resource for facility visitors and physicians.
    • Answer all incoming calls to the facility.
    • Relay information in accurate, concise manner.
    • Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA regulations.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of insurance lines of business.
    • Knowledge of standard coordination of benefits methodology.
    • Typing or keyboarding skills.
    • Medical records tasks as needed.
    • Knowledge of office machines (i.e. computer, scanner, fax, copier, multi-line phone system with voicemail, etc.).
    • Knowledgable of HIPPA guidelines, Red Flag Rules, and Medicare Conditions of Coverage requirements
    • Versatile and willing to coordinate with and participate in, when necessary, all other aspects of the Business Office.
    • Possess strong initiative to get daily work finished and processed.
    • Is courteous, understanding and sympathetic toward patients, physicians and others.
    • Maintains regular attendance.
    • Ability to handle confidential information.
    • Ability to set priorities and work independently.
    • Warm, friendly personality with a commitment to treat patients with compassion and respect.
    • Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, supervisor and other facility teammates.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Ability to use discretion in dealing with the public.


    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Three – five years’ experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field
    • Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications
    • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
