    Facility Description:

    Barranca Surgery Center is a Multi-Specialty Surgical Center in Irvine, Ca with 2 OR's and 2 GI Suites.  We are a state-of-the-art center and are looking for a Pre-Op/ Pacu Nurse. Specialties include Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, GYN, ENT and Ophthalmology.   A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment are a must.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Pre-OP –PACU-Recovery Registered Nurse position will provide support to the facility by providing preoperative and postoperative RN duties. This position will includes but is not limited to preoperative phone calls, preoperative admission assessment and IV start, PACU recovery and discharge in all areas of the facility as assigned. 

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provides direct clinical patient care to surgical patients in the preoperative and postoperative care areas.
    • Prepares the clinical area for patients and procedures each day (assuring all supplies and equipment is present and ready).
    • Assisting with efficient turn-over of beds between cases to prepare for the next patient.
    • Accurate and legible documentation in the medical record.
    • Accurate and legible documentation of the inventory and maintenance of templates and preference cards.
    • Communicates effectively with department teammates, physician offices and patients to assure continuity of patient care.
    • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of California
    • 1-2 years Pre-op and/or Recovery Experience REQUIRED
    • Ambulatory Surgery experience strongly preferred.
    • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY.
    • Knowledge of typical OR equipment required.
