    Facility Description:


    Sunergy Outpatient Surgery Center-Fort Myers is a multidisciplinary ASC with two operating rooms.  We offer quality care delivered by experienced staff, using specialized equipment and advanced technology in an efficient environment.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Surgical Technician position is responsible for providing safe and direct surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence within the ASC to identified age groups. In collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team, the surgical technologist competently performs job responsibilities in accordance with all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.     


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance and care of instruments and equipment.
    • Assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures and effectively and efficiently assists the surgeon during the procedure. 
    • Good visual acuity. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape. Ability to speak and hear. 
    • Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations.
    • Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.



    • Graduate of an recognized an Accredited Technology Program
    • Current BLS certification
    • 1-2 years ASC or hospital Experience REQUIRED
    • Orthopedic (Total Joint, Sports Medicine, Hand, Ankle) surgical experience strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of typical OR equipment required
    • Ability to be flexible with work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
