    Facility Description:

    The Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Center Heritage is a single-specialty ambulatory surgery center located near Keller/Fort Worth Texas, which is a short commute from Dallas. Our center will provide care for patients starting in September 2018. With four operating rooms we will provide Orthopedics, Spine, and Pain surgery services.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The RN OR Circulator position is responsible for providing safe and direct quality care for patients receiving treatment at the ASC in the operating room to identified age groups. In collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team, the OR Circulator competently performs job responsibilities in accordance with all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility’s policies & procedures.
    • Demonstrates respect for co-workers & develops positive working relationships with other departments.
    • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with patients, physicians, hospital staff, vendors and the public – in person, on the telephone, or by email.
    • Develops, individualizes and prioritizes patient’s plan of care daily in collaboration with patient, family and health team members that is sensitive to the patient’s cultural and spiritual needs to attain expected outcomes.
    • Coordinates and performs activities routinely as appropriate with the OR Clinical Manager, Medical Director and the Quality Committee(s). 
    • Provides direct clinical patient care to surgical patients in the operating room. 
    • Prepares the operating room for procedures each day assuring all supplies, implants, & equipment is present and ready. 
    • Assisting with efficient Operating Room turn over between cases to prepare for the next case. 
    • Accurate and legible documentation in the medical record and inventory and maintenance of preference cards. 
    • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor. 


    • Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Texas
    • 1-2 years OR Circulating Experience REQUIRED
    • Orthopedics (Total Joint, Sports Medicine, Hand, Ankle, Spine and Pain Management) surgical experience strongly preferred.             
    • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY
    • Knowledge of typical OR equipment required 
    • Computer experience, HST, Excel, Word. 
    • Ability to be flexible with work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
