    Wake Forest Baptist Health Outpatient Surgery — Clemmons is a brand new, 12,500-square-foot outpatient surgery center scheduled to open in 2018.  The center is a partnership between Surgical Care Affiliates LLC and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. SCA, part of Optum, specializes in developing surgical facilities across the country.  The center has three state-of-the-art operating rooms where gynecology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, and plastic and general surgery will be performed.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    Certified Surgical Technicians assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses or other surgical personnel.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical care
    • Ability to set priorities
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency in the OR
    • Cognizant of health care cost
    • Recognize the importance of teamwork

     

    Qualifications

    • Current CST certification or completed within 60 days of hire, required
    • Current BLS certification
    • Education, Vocational Training, and Experience

      • Graduate of accredited surgical technology training program, preferred
      • 2 years of experience in an outpatient surgery setting, preferred
