    Facility Description:

    Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas opened in 2010 and features eight operating rooms specializing in ophthalmology.  We thrive on excellent patient care and efficiency.  We received AAAHC commended status in 2014 and are the third busiest surgery center in the nation according to CMS data.  Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas is located in North Dallas off of Central Expressway between Meadow and Royal lane. 

     

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

     

    Operating Room Manager – Manage, coordinate, assess, and plan surgical schedule for 60 -100 procedures daily Monday – Friday.  The position supervises 33-35 teammates.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Ability to set priorities and provide direction to others that is clear, concise, and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility. 
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, teammates, physicians, and other healthcare workers 
    • Interviews, selects, and retains qualified staff to meet facility needs. Also assures replacement of marginal teammates before he/she has negative impact on peer relationships or morale. 
    • Develop orientation and education plans for new teammates orienting to the facility and existing teammates participating in cross-training. 
    • Assign teammates according to their clinical competence. 
    • Supervise teammates to assure maximum productivity and quality of patient care. 
    • Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member when needed. 
    • Diffuses, resolves conflict by appropriately communicating with those involved
    •  Perform audits for compliance in medication safety, timeout procedure, and infection control practices

     

    Qualifications

    • Required - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Successful completion of BCLS, ACLS, and PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current certifications.  Employer provides courses.
    • Preferred – Operating room experience
