    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated RN to work in the Operating rooms at our ambulatory surgical center as PRN status. The RN's responsibilities include safe, comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to the surgical patient and family according to physician order, in compliance with the philosophy of the facility, standards of practice and regulations of governing agencies. Must be able to circulate all specialties. Ability to scrub also is an asset.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assembles cases according to schedule and preference cards.
    • Ensures that the surgical site time-out process if followed and completed.
    • Performs duties as circulating or scrub nurse.
    • Responsible for position patient relevant to procedure with awareness of body alignment, circulation and pressure points.
    • Accurately completes intraoperative record and inventory sheet.
    • Properly labels and cares for specimens.
    • Provides and records all intraoperative medications. Obtains physician signature of administration of same.
    • Provides comprehensive hand off report to PACU RN.
    • Achieves patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.
    • Assesses, plans, implements and coordinates patient care.
    • Communicates well with patients, families, teammates, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
    • Implements appropriate standards of care.
    • Utilizes specialized nursing knowledge and nursing process while giving direct or indirect care.


    • Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
    • At least 1 year of prior OR experience
    • Current FL state licensure to practice.
    • Skills required are bilingual in English and Spanish, ACLS, BLS, IV Skills.
