    Facility Description:

    Texas Health Surgery Center Alliance is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center located in Ft Worth, TX in the medical office building of the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance

     

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    The Perioperative (OR) Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.

     

    As a representative of Texas Health Surgery Center Alliance, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct effect on the Facility’s image and perceptions of quality service.  Interaction with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, volunteers, co-workers, managers, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional.  This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork that is congruent with Facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.

     

    Times variable between 0500 and the time the last patient leaves on regular work days, dependent on assigned area.

    8. Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
    9. Assumes an active role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving care.
    10. Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
    11. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position in patient care duties.

    13. Utilizes time effectively.
    14. Follows established facility policies and procedures with regard to attendance.
    15. Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
    16. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    17. Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patient’s, teammates, physicians, and guests.
    18. Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.

    21. Responsibly demonstrates and the importance of continuing education to the performance of facility responsibilities and growth in profession.

    25. Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.

    28. Interacts with all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment.
    29. Fosters a positive and professional facility environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.
    30. Maintains dress and appearance according to standards as observed by management.
    31. Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
    32. Demonstrates understanding and puts into practice the SCA value of Service Excellence

     

    Qualifications

    Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.  At least five years of OR Circulator surgical nursing experience required.  Knowledge and experience with orthopedics, urology, and gynecology also required.  Current state licensure to practice. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.  Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. PALS certification preferred.
