    The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase (SCCC) is a busy multi-specialty facility in the Chevy Chase area of Maryland.  Primarily Orthopedic/Spine in focus, it also services Pain Management, ENT, Oral-Maxillofacial, Dental & Plastic specialties.  A proud affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates, a leading national owner & manager of over 210 ASC's and surgical hospitals.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    SCCC has an opening for a FT Registered Nurse, (RN) Manager of our Preoperative/PACU area.  The role has the following requirements:


    The OR Charge nurse is responsible for the oversight of the routine functioning of the unit on his/her assisgned shift.  As a Registered Nurse, the Charge Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing & coordinating patient care from admission to discharge & anticipating the breakout of cases & preparation of patients for surgery.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes with the mission of the facility.
    • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
    • Ability to set priorities.
    • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency on the unit.
    • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc.
    • Ability to demonstrate a strong anticipatory sense of what will be needed, who needs to where, what trays need to be inhouse & what patients are ready.
    • Ability to circulate case(s), should the need arise.



    • 2 years OR charge experience in a management role or
    • 3 years OR circulating experience in a heavy orthopedic environment
    • Friendly, high energy with good communication skills and critical thinking ability
    • Ambulatory surgery center experience, a plus 
    • Orthopedic experienced, preferred


    Required license or certification:

    • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • BLS Certification
    • ACLS Preferred
    • Current Maryland or Compact Nursing License
