    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    This role may be based in our corporate office located in Chicago, IL and will have oversite for multiple facilities throughout the Midwest.  As the Clinical Director, you will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Lead the implementation and execution of SCA’s clinical protocols and standards, including clinical pathways, to ensure patient safety, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction
    • Audit, measure and routinely report compliance and adherence to established guidelines
    • Establish and perpetuate a culture of rigorous feedback and continuous improvement in clinical operations
    • Deliver benchmarks and evolving best practices across region
    • Build and manage team of regionally-deployed quality coordinators to serve multiple sites in discrete functions of clinical excellence (e.g., infection control, life safety, etc.)
    • Evaluate facility-level teammates for development into regional roles; build pipeline of clinical talent for regional roles
    • Support Clinical Leads at facilities through routine and frequent training, seminars, and cultural affiliation events
    • Implement talent management tools and processes in support of facility leadership
    • Clinical teammate assessment and recommendations (topgrading)
    • Highlight succession planning opportunities and risk areas
    • Ongoing communication and reporting with Regional Leads and CEOs
    • Team with operations and development resources to support implementation of clinical operations platform at new, or newly acquired, facilities
    • Manage licensing, accreditation, equipment procurement, clinical team formation, training, credentialing, systems implementation / integration (, time and quality management systems)
    • Establish clinical data reporting structures and processes
    • Serve as regional leader and representative on variety of SCA initiatives and projects
    • Deliver innovation and improvement projects from national, executive leadership to region
    • Establish relationships with peers across country; deliver perspective, connectivity, and best practices to region
    • Serve as the subject matter expert in clinical quality


    • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in the ambulatory surgery center and/or surgical hospital settings
    • Experience leading and managing complex projects and/or performance improvement studies
    • Successful tenure in leading and managing teams of clinical professionals
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
    • Active membership in professional organizations such as AORN, PMI, etc. preferred
