Large, 8 Operating Room, 1 Procedure Room Multispecialty Ambulatory Surgical Facility. The facility opened in 1984 and currently serves over 100 surgeons.  Surgical Specialties provided include Ophthalmology, Interventional Pain Management, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics & Spine, Gynecological Surgery, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry and Oral Surgery. Patients have their same-day surgery in a warm, inviting environment and are discharged home after recovery. The facility does offer 23-hour stay when patients need to be observed overnight.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Business Office Manager position will provide support to the facility by managing facility business activities in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation regulations and standards, corporate and facility policies and procedures. Maintain internal controls and protect facility assets. Provide strategic leadership and management within business office and coordinate revenue cycle, financial management and contribute to budget planning. Specific daily tasks and duties for oversight include but are not limited to; review of cash position, oversight of surgery scheduling, review and approval of Purchase Orders for supply chain procurement, Payor Credentialing, Admissions/Registration/Intake, Accounts Payable, Medical Records management, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, Transaction, Posting, Clinical Logs and other duties as assigned. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of all Business Office Teammates, including orientation and evaluation.
  • Manages all aspects of Revenue Cycle at Facility.
  • Ensures that administrative and accounting procedures are carried out according to the SCA Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Responsible for office supplies and equipment. (Fax machines, copiers, payment machines, telephone system, etc)
  • Assures accounts receivables are managed and follow up is complete, individually as well as accounts with insurance companies.
  • Determines accounts to be placed for collections and oversees management of follow up.
  • Acts as liaison with insurance companies as indicated.
  • Is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all financial statements for submission to home office.
  • Is responsible to assist as a back-up for the timely and accurate completion of payroll and forward to home office for processing.
  • Works closely with CEO and other key team members to promote growth of the Surgery Center.
  • Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
  • Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.


  • HS diploma or equivalent and 3 years healthcare finance related experience REQUIRED; Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years healthcare finance related experience STRONGLY PREFERRED. 
  • Knowledge of basic healthcare finance accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
  • Supervisory experience including hiring and termination, performance review of department teammates, extensive experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable. 
  • Medical terminology knowledge required. 
  • Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications. 
  • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY. 
  • Good communication skills and phone etiquette. 
  • Experience with multiple and varied Payor Contracts required.
