Facility Description:


The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CMIS) is an outpatient surgery center with 4 ORs and 1 procedure room offering advance surgical procedures to patients in a unique patient-focused environment.  CMIS currently offers surgeries in Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Pain Management, Urology, General Spine Surgery and Orthopedics including complex spine surgery and total joint surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip.  In addition, CMIS has a unique 5 bed Recovery Care Center which allows postoperative stays up to 48 hours.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Directs and supervises the overall operation of the Operating Room.  The Clinical Manager – OR is responsible for supervision and delivery of quality perioperative patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to fulfill Perioperative Nurse Position specific responsibilities.
  • Assigns staff according to patient care needs and skill level of staff.
  • Facilitates OR schedule through coordination with physicians, anesthesia staff, other departments, and clinical staff.
  • Assists and provides expertise with clinical and patient issues, provide care as needed.
  • Directly and indirectly monitors staff performance ad adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental, physician and organization performance improvement programs.
  • Acts as liaison between physician and Surgical Services Leadership.
  • Collaborates with Medical Director in providing clinical experience, orientation, and evaluation of staff and students.
  • Assists CEO with short and long term staffing.
  • Assists CEO with task completion and physician needs and provides timely feedback as needed.
  • Anticipates patient care needs for specialized equipment/supplies and coordinates care through Service Coordinators, materials Management, Sterile Processing, Pre-Op and Post Operatives, and Physicians.




  • Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Illinois
  • 4 years perioperative nursing experience
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLs certification
  • Demonstrates leadership and management principles
  • CNOR preferred
  • BSN preferred
