Facility Description:

Large, 8 Operating Room, 1 Procedure Room Multispecialty Ambulatory Surgical Facility. The facility opened in 1984 and currently serves over 100 surgeons.  Surgical Specialties provided include Ophthalmology, Interventional Pain Management, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics & Spine, Gynecological Surgery, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry and Oral Surgery. Patients have their same-day surgery in a warm, inviting environment and are discharged home after recovery. The facility does offer 23-hour stay when patients need to be observed overnight.


Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Provide support to the 3rd and 1st Floor OR Anesthesia and OR Staff by performing the following duties: Provide technical support to the facility by providing room turnover for all Anesthesia Equipment and Supplies, cleaning and maintaining ALL 9 anesthesia carts with supplies and medications, assuring NO expired meds or supplies, daily IV prep, daily sterilization of necessary anesthesia equipment, maintaining stock in anesthesia supply room, organizing anesthesia stock room, notifying purchasing of needed supply orders, notifying medication nurse of needed medications,  additional anesthesia technician duties as directed.  This position also flexes as an orderly/patient care tech as needed to include patient lifting help, positioning, and assisting with general OR Suite turnover.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Properly cleans anesthesia equipment and carts in each OR and procedure room between procedures and at the end of each day.
  • Provides necessary anesthesia equipment and supplies for each OR and procedure room before and between procedures (circuits, positioning aids, monitoring supplies, etc).
  • Assures that all anesthesia carts in operating rooms and procedure room are stocked accordingly on a daily basis.
  • Notifies Materials Manager as PAR levels in stock are low and/or there is a need to place an order for anesthesia supplies.
  • Assists with IV preparation in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policy.
  • Assisting with efficient Operating Room turn over between cases to prepare for the next case.
  • Communicates effectively with Anesthesia providers, department teammates, physicians and patients as indicated to assure continuity of patient care.
  • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • High School graduate or equivalent;
  • 2 years OR/Anesthesia Clinical Technical Experience REQUIRED;
  • Multispecialty OR experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY.
  • Knowledge of typical OR equipment required.
  • Computer experience, HST, Excel, Word.
