Accountabilities / Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a Surgical Tech in our Operating room.  This role is responsible for providing assistance to the surgical team, while maintaining the sterile field for operating procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure, and prepares for scheduled future cases by obtaining, supplies and equipment and placing on case cart.  Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and opens sterile supplies.  Helps in draping sterile field.
  • Scrubs, gowns and gloves prior to surgical procedure per hospital policy, and gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants for procedure.  Passes instruments, etc., to surgeon during procedure and anticipates what will be needed.  Prepares sterile dressings.
  • Assists other members of team with terminal cleaning of room, as well as prepping room for the next patient.


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required and will be verified during hiring process.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required, or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Surgical Technologist Certification is preferred. 
  • Prior experience as a Surgical Tech is preferred.
