Overview

SCA, a leader in the outpatient surgery industry, strategically partners with health plans, medical groups and health systems across the country to develop and optimize surgical facilities. SCA operates more than 200 surgical facilities, including ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals, in partnership with approximately 3,000 physicians. Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The position will support the development and management of strategic relationships with health care organizations (primarily health plans, brokerages/consulting firms, and consortiums) for the purposes of enabling long-term growth partnerships.  Supporting VP Strategic Partnerships, the role will organize relationship management functions and formalize/socialize health plan-driven best practices for SCA and OptumCare’s continued growth, promotion, and success.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support VP Strategic Partnerships in developing enterprise relationship management strategies that fully leverage SCA's capabilities and lead to growth opportunities.
  • Assist in socializing developments in SCA's partnerships internally both amongst team and cross-functionally across SCA/OptumCare, furthering enterprise and regional understanding of strategic possibilities broadly and deeply.
  • Anticipate and coordinate series of engagement opportunities to promote SCA and OptumCare, including speaking events/conferences.
  • Support development of relationships that position SCA and OptumCare as the unique solution to delivering surgical/ambulatory capabilities, products, and value for health plans. Possess and grow deep understanding of how health plans operate across functions (e.g., cost of care, commercial, sales, network) and demonstrate ability to navigate complex organizations successfully.  Create, maintain, and improve relationship-management processes to enable effective "client management" of health plans and other target organizations at local, enterprise, and executive levels.  Collaborate with key internal (e.g., sales, operations, payer engagement, development, analytics, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g., health plan contacts) on developing/prioritizing strategic initiatives.  Integrate effectively across SCA/OptumCare resources, serving as the "connective tissue" for health plan partnership approaches.                                                                                                         
  • Drive growth/success in local market health plan initiatives by assisting in or managing development, maintenance, and organization of materials that position SCA's value effectively. This includes building PowerPoint presentations and supporting creation payer-related analytic value models. 
  • Top level ability to manage key enterprise and high priority projects. Coordinate local support and develop/promote an enterprise results-sharing platform around execution for SCA's active payment models with health plan partners.  Support next generation of SCA and OptumCare payer-focused capabilities, chiefly by identifying and removing both internal and external barriers to accelerate progress.

Qualifications

  • Top level ability to manage key enterprise and high priority projects
  • 7+ years working within and around health plans (preferred)
  • Highly knowledgeable regarding value-based payment concepts, high performance networks, and other health plan cost of care/population health strategies
  • Strong industry expertise
