Facility Description: Grossmont Surgery Center is a fast paced dual-specialty ASC specializing in Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology and Retina.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technologist functions as part of the surgical/ procedural team, under the supervision of a Surgeon, Registered Nurse, or other surgical personnel to ensure that the operating / procedure room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Function independently in the Scrub Technician
  • Functions independently as the Retina Surgical Technician
  • Functions independently as the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Functions independently as the Gastroenterology Technician
  • Functions independently as the Gastroenterology Processing Technician
  • Assists with the preparation of the operating / procedure room
  • Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room and preps for next patient
  • Ensures all supplies and equipment needed for surgeries / procedures are present and in working order
  • Adheres to policies of the facility, CMS and The Joint Commission


  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • Current CST certification
  • Minimum two years OR experience
  • Current BLS
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively while maintaining a calm atmosphere
  • Available flexible hours
  • Prior Gastroenterology or Ophthalmic experience preferred
