Facility Description:

Texas Health Surgery Center Rockwall is an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located on the first floor in the adjacent medical office building on Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall.  It is a multispecialty ASC offering a wide range of services Monday through Friday.  There will be a total of 2 Operating Rooms and 2 Endoscopy/Specialty Procedure Room Suites.  There are 8 Pre-Op beds and 8 Recovery beds.  It is a De Novo with the latest interiors and state of the art equipment.  Texas Health Surgery Center Rockwall is scheduled to open early 2018. 

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for the fluoroscopic x-rays (C-Arm) procedures and other radiation procedures according to facility policy. In collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team, the radiology technologist competently performs job responsibilities in accordance with all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.     


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to assist with the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility’s policies & procedures.
  • Knowledge of radiation equipment, including the maintenance and care of equipment.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection.
  • Evaluates radiographs for technical quality and stores films according to facility policy and guidelines.
  • Maintains documentation, reports, and files according to facility policy.
  • Calculates and regulates equipment using established technique, knowledge and skill.
  • Knows and practices the principles and procedures of sterile technique.
  • Sets up and operates radiation equipment in operating/procedure rooms.
  • Assists physician with imaging procedures.
  • Assists patients with pre- and post-procedures according to facility policy and established guidelines.
  • Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patients, teammates, physicians, guests.
  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers & develops positive working relationships with other departments.


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited radiology program required.
  • 1-2 year experience in radiology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of radiology principles and practices.
  • Certification in radiation technology preferred.
  • Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment required or documentation of current BCLS certification
  • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills
