Overview

SCA owns and/or provides management services to 194 ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and hospital surgery departments, in partnership with approximately 2,800 physicians and in affiliation with 105 health systems. SCA's clinical systems, service line growth strategies, benchmarking processes, and efficiency programs create measurable advantage for surgical facilities – clinically, operationally, and financially. 

 

Facility Description: The Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center is a busy multispecialty ASC located in Tigard, OR (in the Portland Metro area). The surgical center has three Operating Rooms. The center specializes in Orthopedics (including total joint replacements), General Surgery, OPTH, POD and pain management.

 

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Manage daily pre/PACU schedule efficiently. 
  • Provide orientation to new nursing staff.
  • Identify and report educational needs to Clinical Manager.  Assist staff in developing necessary surgical skills.
  • Assist Clinical Manager in identifying and implementing appropriate, innovative and cost effective patient care practices.
  • Identify and report supply and equipment needs.  Has knowledge of function, performance and troubleshooting of all equipment.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with OR charge nurse and staff, physicians and their office staff, business office staff and anesthesiologists.
  • Consult Clinical Manager for decisions not clearly defined in Center Policy and Procedure Manuals.
  • Function as preop/PACU RN when necessary, including accurate and complete medical record documentation.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in State of Oregon.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum of two years PACU experience preferred.
  • One year management-related experience.
