We are part of Surgical Care Affiliates which owns and/or provides management services to over 200 ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and hospital surgery departments, in partnership with approximately 2,800 physicians and in affiliation with 105 health systems. Accountabilities / Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide support for performing contract assignments of national and local procurement activities and functions throughout the contract life-cycle.  In addition, this role acts as a liaison between centers, suppliers, and teammates and will support Category Managers in developing and implementing sourcing strategies as well as managing systems supporting the sourcing process.  Other responsibilities include providing exceptional support to facilities for all Supply Chain activities including, but not limited to, contract negotiation, cost savings, benchmarking, standardization, market analysis, and industry best practices. 


  • Facilitate and help drive cost reduction opportunities for SCA centers/hospitals by utilizing standardization, value analysis, utilization, and pricing cost reduction strategies
  • Accountable to department’s annual goals and objectives
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) process
  • Performs commonly used contracting methods and contract types related to pre-award, post-award and/or price/cost analysis functions to perform well-defined and precedent contract actions
  • Assigns work in terms of objectives, priorities and deadlines and provides additional assistance with new, complex, and challenging assignments
  • Plans and carries out recurring work using established procedures, conferring with the supervisor or higher-level specialists as necessary on technical problems
  • Performs basic analyses for purchased services and medical/surgical contracts
  • Manage strategic relationships and develop new suppliers to ensure best-in-class cost and performance using world-class techniques
  • Review supply and service contracts and assess the ability for transition to an SCA preferred agreement
  • Educate facilities on best practices on preferred contracts in order to maximize opportunities and streamline operations
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with facility staff, including the operations team.  Participate in a variety of meetings to present opportunities, savings realized, and overall supply chain metrics
  • Recommend solutions based upon data analysis to increase business efficiency and/or improve business processes
  • Identify new opportunities and assist in negotiating and implementing national, GPO, Custom GPO and/or local purchasing agreements (bids, requests for proposals, etc.)
  • Participates in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis and implementation of cost effective product, services and processes
  • Support implementation of national contracts and product conversions within SCA facilities



  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years purchasing, supplier management or contract management experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of creating and maintaining analytic reports and tools
  • Strong organization skills and relating data to business metrics
  • Strong ability to identify barriers, business trends
  • Experience in areas related to data warehousing, purchasing, contracts, accounting, budgeting, or healthcare
  • Experience in Microsoft applications
