Facility Description:

Stonegate Surgery Center is a beautiful Ambulatory Surgical Center in Austin, Texas. We have five OR Suites and specialize in orthopedic, podiatry, plastics and pain management and GI procedures.  We are currently searching for a full-time Sterile Processing Technician. We are open Monday through Friday and closed on weekends and holidays.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, packaging, sterilizing, and storing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical use.

  • Adheres to sterilization processes and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly sterile processing area.
  • Processes and cleans items according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Observes safety measures in the performance of job duties.
  • Sort and arrange items in correct trays and wrap trays and individual items according to facility policy and manufacturer instructions.
  • Accurately labels each item.
  • Position items appropriately in sterilizers and washer; demonstrates proper use of all sterilization equipment.
  • Performs biological testing and monitoring.
  • Cleans sterilizers and washers according to Facility policy and manufacturers instructions.
  • Checks indicators for proper functioning.
  • Maintains accurate records of all processing and sterilization of instrumentation.


  • At least 2 years previous Sterile Processing experience required; certification preferred.
