Facility Description:

Large, 8 Operating Room, 1 Procedure Room Multispecialty Ambulatory Surgical Facility. The facility opened in 1984 and currently serves over 100 surgeons.  Surgical Specialties provided include Ophthalmology, Interventional Pain Management, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics & Spine, Gynecological Surgery, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry and Oral Surgery. Patients have their same-day surgery in a warm, inviting environment and are discharged home after recovery. The facility does offer 23-hour stay when patients need to be observed overnight.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Provide support to the facility by assisting with Medical Records Data Entry, Filing, Scanning and other associated

Medical Records functions.  This will include but not be limited to completing clinical log data entry, performing medical record completion audits, preparing medical records for the scanning process, scanning medical records, logging medical records status, electronically dropping scanned records into Scan Chart from off-site Medical Records storage company, communicating with patients and physician offices as needed. This position may cross train and float in other areas per management discretion. 

  • Completes data entry for maintenance of Clinical Log.
  • Completes medical record completion audits and follow up.
  • Prepares medical records for scanning.
  • Scans Medical Records.
  • Requests old records from off-site storage as indicated.
  • Prepares medical records for each patient.
  • Communicates effectively with department teammates, physician offices and patients to assure continuity of patient care.
  • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • 2 years clerical experience, healthcare setting strongly preferred;
  • Excellent telephone etiquette MANDATORY.
  • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY.
  • Knowledge of typical OR equipment required.
  • Computer experience, HST, Excel, Word.
