Overview

SCA owns and/or provides management services to 205 ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and hospital surgery departments, in partnership with approximately 2,800 physicians and in affiliation with 105 health systems. SCA's clinical systems, service line growth strategies, benchmarking processes, and efficiency programs create measurable advantage for surgical facilities – clinically, operationally, and financially. 

 

Facility Description:

Surgery Center is a new, free-standing, multi-specialty surgery center on the campus of Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Specialties include Orthopedics, Neuro-spine, ENT, Urology, General Surgery

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Physician Office Liaison (POL) manages operating room time and is expected to proactively fill the schedule with appropriate procedures.  The POL is the key point of contact with our physician offices and their relationships help ensure the success of our centers in Growth and OR time utilization.  

  • Be an active member of the center’s growth team in developing and maintaining an effective marketing program that encompasses physicians, patients, medical groups, and third party payers.
  • Chair the bi-weekly Growth Team Meeting and assign tasks to members of the team as needed. 
  • Monitor progress and re-evaluate the Growth Plan on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the center’s operational Core Leadership weekly meetings.
  • Market the center through daily outgoing calls and a minimum of two weekly face-to- face visits to physician offices to develop solid and long lasting relationships.
  • Coordinate and attend scheduler luncheons, open houses, and other events to strengthen the facility’s brand and pull through on existing relationships.
  • Develop an ongoing communication plan with physician office schedulers to assess satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to supersede expectations and demonstrate exceptional professional behavior as a representative of SCA.
  • Perform a cost analysis for new procedures identified by the clinical team.
  • Review block utilization weekly and monthly to release block times not being used and actively backfill with other cases.
  • Maximize efficiency within the surgery schedule by organizing cases.
  • Communicates patient information to assure confidentiality and continuity of care
  • Documents all patient information according to established standards of care, policies and procedures
  • Discusses patient information with other health team members in an appropriate environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a 4-year institution,
  • Three – five years’ experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field;
  • Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications;
  • Working knowledge of  Medical Terminology. 
  • Experience in an ASC preferred, but not required.
