Facility Description:  Channel Islands Surgicenter is a fast paced multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center with 3 ORs and 3 GI rooms.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The PACU nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.  Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure. 

  • Monitors vital signs, recognize emergencies and notify anesthesia providers
  • Provides instructions according to patient needs
  • Maintains or improves circulatory function
  • Carries out MD orders
  • Discharges patient upon order of anesthesia provider and/or attending physician in accordance with procedure
  • Provides emergency care according to physician and administrative policy
  • Sets priorities to facilitate the flow of patient efficiently
  • Initiates appropriate infection control measures
  • Maintains an environment that promotes safety


  • Current California nursing license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • ASC experience preferred
