Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Radiology Tech is responsible for providing support to the OR by routinely preparing X-ray examinations for interpretation by the radiologist. Performs all functions related to radiographic procedures for patients. 

  • Correctly identifies patient and corresponding exam. Obtains and documents patient history. 
  • Demonstrates proper positioning, radiographic techniques, and cassette screen/grid combinations to ensure high quality examinations.
  • Practices standard precautions and maintain infection control standards.
  • Educates the patient regarding procedures and related information.
  • Properly operates equipment as demonstrated by observation and audit.
  • Cleans equipment and stocks supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrates cooperative, positive and professional patient care and customer service.
  • Consistently maintains complete confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer or other sensitive material which may jeopardize the privacy of others.
  • Performs and supports quality assurance/ CQI programs and processes.
  • Demonstrates commitment to organizational goals.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services and trainings.
  • Assists the Radiologist with Arthogram procedures. Must demonstrate appropriate sterile procedure skills.


  • Completion of Associates program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current State and ARRT licensure.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
