SCA owns and/or provides management services to 200+ ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and hospital surgery departments, in partnership with approximately 3,000 physicians and in affiliation with leading health systems. SCA's clinical systems, service line growth strategies, benchmarking processes, and efficiency programs create measurable advantage for surgical facilities – clinically, operationally, and financially.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Compensation and Benefits Analyst is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing current and revised compensation and benefit programs to be responsive to SCA’s goals. This position is responsible for ensuring that company compensation and benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.


This role would be located out of corporate office in Deerfield Illinois or our Regional Business Office in Birmingham Alabama



  • Conducts, participates, and analyzes compensation surveys and conducts market based benchmarking analyses as well as prepares statistical analysis, data modeling and report summarization for base salary, bonus and equity programs.
  • Analyzes competitive market survey results to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs, using results to develop analysis, propose alternatives to, involved in discussions of alternatives to determine program development and implementation (e.g., job benchmarking, salary structure development, bonus structure evaluation, ad hoc analysis).
  • Analyzes, reviews, recommends and obtains approval for changes to compensation and benefits including perform root cause analysis, identify areas for improvement and propose recommendations.
  • Develops executive summary of benchmarking benefit/wellness surveys results and propose recommendations/programs including cost impact analysis.
  • Completes reports by collecting and analyzing benefits data and conducts and/or assists with routine benefits audits
  • Other duties as needed or required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • 4 years of experience with the development/design of compensation programs and current knowledge of all relative rules, regulations and laws pertaining to compensation administration preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including working with all levels of employees and managers.
  • Excellent analytical skills used in data analysis and online compensation administration tools with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses to exhibits.
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits regulations including, FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, 403(b) and Section 125 requirements preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%.
